Roles in the Health Industry

Associated Fund Administrators Botswana continues to play the role of context-setter in the Botswana private healthcare industry, and participates in several complementary initiatives which include the following:

• Serving on most clinical forums in the health industry.

• Participating in all government initiated forums, to which AFA or its personnel is invited; regarding the Botswana Health industry.

• Acting as HIV/AIDS benefit management adviser to a number of local companies, and two (2) medical aid schemes.

• Participating in Healthcare Administrators' forums.

• Serving on a number of international private healthcare, and health-related development partner forums.
  

• Accessing and utilising one of the best clinical teams in Southern Africa, which is experienced in private healthcare financing vagaries.
  

• Participating in and chairing the ongoing effort to establish a truly national private sector response to HIV/AIDS; working with the Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM), the National AIDS Co-ordinating Agency (NACA), and other development aid partners, such as the BOTUSA project and the local UNAIDS office, among others.
  

• Representing the Botswana private healthcare funding sector at international trade association forum.
