About Us

Associated Fund Administrators Botswana (Pty) Ltd (AFA) has been in the business of medical aid administration for over 20 years. Since its inception in 1990, it has mainly administered two medical aid schemes, namely; the Botswana Public Officers’ Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS), and Pula Medical Aid Fund (PULA). AFA has been administering the schemes since their nascent stages of development and has contributed to their phenomenal growth to date.

Total lives covered under the two schemes was over 193,000 as at 31 October 2009; representing over 70% of total lives covered by medical aid schemes in Botswana. BPOMAS principal membership stood at over 69 415 with PULA at 15 766 respectively.

AFA has since 2005-2010 managed and coordinated Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services for Government funded patients accessing ART services in the Private Sector.
